Our Story
It all started in 2019.
Like a lot of people, I’d heard about CBD and wanted to know more. I went into a well-known health shop to ask questions, and nobody could give me a straight answer. I walked out more confused than when I went in.
Later that year I tried another shop. This time the place felt cold and unwelcoming. Nobody listened, and nobody helped.
That was the turning point.
I’d worked in retail for years, and I knew a shop could do better than that. I wanted somewhere people could walk in, ask anything and get a clear, honest answer.
So we got to work. We trained a small team, built a supply chain we could rely on, and put as much effort into explaining products as into choosing them. In March 2020 we opened our first CannaPower shop in London.
Two weeks later, the UK went into lockdown.
Then Brexit hit our supplies even harder. We had no staff, not much stock and a shop we couldn’t open. We kept going anyway, and used the time to regroup and rebuild. By 2022 we were working with UK manufacturers on our own range of CBD products.
By the end of 2023 we had three shops in London. Today we’re one shop: Unit 612, The Stables Market, Camden, open 11:00 to 19:00 every day.

Frequently asked questions
Are CBD sweets legal in the UK?
Yes, if they’re made from permitted hemp, have no more than 1mg of THC or other controlled cannabinoids per pack, and are on the FSA’s public list of CBD products.
Does CBD oil have side effects?
Some people get tiredness, an upset stomach or changes in appetite. CBD can also interact with some medicines, so check with your GP or pharmacist if you take any. It’s not recommended if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
What is CBD and how does it work?
CBD (cannabidiol) is a natural compound in hemp. It doesn’t get you high. It interacts with the endocannabinoid system, which is involved in lots of everyday processes in the body. The research is still going, and in the UK CBD is sold as a food supplement or cosmetic, not a medicine.
Can I take CBD with other Medications?
CBD can interact with some medicines, so please check with your GP or pharmacist before you start.
What are CBD sweets?
Gummies, lollipops, chewing gum and so on, made with CBD. They’re an easy way to have a set amount without measuring anything.
What is CBD oil?
It’s hemp extract containing CBD (cannabidiol), mixed into a carrier oil. You usually take it as drops under your tongue. It won’t get you high.
How do I use CBD products?
There are lots of ways: oils under the tongue, gummies and other edibles, creams and balms on the skin, or vapes. It mostly comes down to what fits into your day.
